Is this the new MacBook in an aluminum case?
These pictures come from the same source, Apple Pro (via Engadget), as the last MacBook Pro aluminum case redesign rumor you may have seen. The picture shows a totally aluminum case for the MacBook. The MacBook label is in the exact same place as the current MacBook, and the case appears to be the same shape. While this still is just a rumor, the pics seem to either be real or really well done fakes.

I’m excited to see if this will be the real redesign of the MacBook that many of us are expecting. Aluminum is a great choice of case material, in my opinion, but I’m also interested to see what what will be the distinguishing physical features between the MacBook and MacBook Pro. Aluminum has only been for the MacBook Pro, but if it’s included in the MacBook, will screen size be the only aesthetic difference? Only time will tell, because I’m thinking Apple won’t.

Although the photo says MacBook, this looks exactly like the MacBook Air. I’m wondering why Apple would want the two to look exactly alike. Unless the MacBook was significantly thicker or had a downfall which made users want to spend the extra cash on a MacBook Air.
