iPod nano rumor: 5th gen model to include a camera?
I have no idea who these Uxsight people are, but they sure have become a fun source for ridiculous rumors. A couple weeks ago, they started taking pre-orders for a case for the unannounced 3rd gen iPod touch, complete with opening for a possible camera. Now, they’re selling a case for an unannounced 5th gen iPod nano, complete with…you guessed it…an opening for a possible camera. Come on, Uxsight, it’s like you aren’t even trying anymore.
Coincidentally, this case and the one for the 3rd gen iPod touch (which is currently on backorder, of course), cost $1.19 each. I guess that’s Uxsight’s default cost to accessorize items that don’t exist. They even admit this in the product’s description:
This product is based on a mock-up design of the upcoming iPod Nano 5G with a 1.5:1 screen and a camera at the back. There is no guarantee that the final iPod Nano 5G launched by Apple would follow this design exactly. But still it is good for fun collection
Yeah, it’s always fun to pay for a device that serves absolutely no function whatsoever. Of course, I’ve still got some early iPod cases lying about, and they’re as useful to me now as would be this iPod nano 5G case…and about as useful as would be a camera on an iPod nano. With no WiFi or other network capabilities, what good would a camera do? You could synch photos with iPhoto when connecting the docking cable, but what fun is that when the iPhone and iPod touch allow you to share photos wirelessly, post them online, edit them, etc.?
If you do feel the need to protect air from scuffs and scratches, you’ll be pleased to know this case is constructed with soft and durable silicone material for extra grip and durability. It’s available in white, green, black, grey, blue, pink and red, all of which perfectly complement nothing.

i think the back hole may be for speakers , if its for camera the hole will be all upside left
on July 17, 2009 at 12:27 PM - LINKI think that it very well may have a camera, but if it is in the location that this case predicts, then it would hint that we will get a camera button on the side. (So that if you hold the iPod horizontally, it feels like a normal camera)
The two holes at the bottom may be little speaker holes. (Yes please?!)
