iPhone’s secret field test mode

by Marvin Sum on Jul 13, 2007 at 05:10 PM

iPhone Field TestDid you know your iPhone comes with a built-in diagnostics mode? Used primarily for service personnel or beta testers, this mode will show a lot of information like network info, cell info, GPRS, PDP, call information and even the firmware’s version. Tapping Refresh periodically will update the information in real-time.

To get to all the goodies, you’ll have to dial *3001#12345#* (be sure to include all the stars and hashes as well) and tap Call. Once in field mode, you’ll have access to all of the above information on a single screen. You can also do this while talking on another call. If you want to use this frequently, store it as a contact for quick access.
