An adequately unsourced claim paired with a strong desire for iPhone tethering has created this news item:
A Gizmodo reader says that after firing off an e-mail to sjobs at Apple (which works well, for the record) he got one of those rare Steve responses… sent from an iPhone no less.
AT&T offers data plans for BlackBerry that include tethering for an additional $30 per month (a total of $60 per month for the BlackBerry+tethering plan).
It seems ludicrous that the same thing is not offered with the iPhone. I understand the desire to prevent tethering with the current data plan, but I am willing to pay more money to allow tethering! With such an advanced device, why can I not do so?

With no screenshots or other evidence, take it for what you will, but the fact remains that the sender has a very good point, and it is rather odd that such a smartphone feature was left out of the smartest phone’s plan.
