iPhone OS 3.1.2 available now

The latest firmware update for the iPhone and iPod touch has today been released from Apple. There are no new features here, just a few bug fixes to keep your iPhone or iPod touch on top form. The update should fix small issues regarding cellular service, video playback and a reported problem where the iPhone does not wake from sleep mode.
The update is available now from within iTunes via the usual method. It’s around 241 MB in size, and is for the iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch.

This is supposed to fix the problem where the iPhone couldn’t make or receive calls, text or e-mails from time to time without a reboot. It seemed to be a 3G issue, as switching that off and going with Edge would fix the problem, albeit not in a satisfactory way. Since I’ve updated and switched 3G back on, things have been fine, but we’ll see if it lasts.
