iPhone OS 3.0 beta 2 build 7A259 released
The first beta of 3.0 crashed constantly. I know its a beta and is prone to bugs and crashes, but it was really bad. It was slow; really, really slow. If there is anyone else out there who is running the first build of the 3.0 beta, what I have found is that if you reboot the phone after every sync with iTunes, it seems to run okay-ish. Anyway on to the new build.
The new build opens up push notifications to developers in the SDK, allowing them to write code for in-game purchases, and obviously push notifications. Apple has also reportedly fixed several bugs and made the OS more stable, allowing it to run just that much faster. With my short term experience with it, it is actually a usable beta now. My iPhone has not crashed in the three hours I have been running the 7A259 build.
A word of warning, however, for developers; Apple’s infrastructure is getting bombarded with requests for the 2.1GB file right now, so it may be in your best interests to wait a couple of days before attempting to download it. I got lucky.

on April 1, 2009 at 12:58 AM - LINKI Updated To 3.0 Beta 2 7A280f,
EVERYTHING IS PERFECT,
BUT, With This Update Isn’t The Icon On The Main Menu (THE ONE WITH THE HAPPY FACE) Supposed To Appear?
Because I Don’t Have It.
on April 15, 2009 at 05:48 PM - LINKNo that is a generic icon Apple uses to advertise the push notification feature. You will not see it on your phone.
on April 15, 2009 at 07:41 PM - LINKOk, Last Questions:
After The FINAL Release Of 3.0 I Still WON’T See The Icon On My iPod Touch?
With 3.0 On iPod Touch Does That Mean That Whenever I Bookmark A Website In Safari
In A Couple Of Seconds Will It Appear On My iPod Touch?
Because That Only Happends With MobileMe,
And To Have MobileMe You Have To Pay $100.00 (Each Year)
But, Does That Mean That With The Release Of 3.0 I Can Bookmark A Website On MY COMPUTER IN SAFARI And In A Couple Of Seconds It Will Appear On MY IPOD TOUCH WITHOUT HAVING MOBILEME?
I Will Be Able To Do That Without Having MobileMe?
Sorry, Little Dummy Here Asking A Question
