iPhone, now with Ringtones

That’s right, during today’s “stevenote” Steve announced that the iTunes store will be selling Ringtones. The Ringtones will cost 99 cents, plus the cost of the original song on iTunes. So for just $1.98, you get a full song to play on your computer and iPod as well as a Ringtone for your iPhone.
Most Ringtones you purchase are “pre-cut” for you. Basically, you don’t get to choose what part of the song you want. With iPhone Ringtones, you get to choose the length and section of a song you would like to use.

Now, you may be asking how you are going to create these ringtones. Well, you will be able to do it from home easily with your copy of iTunes. Apple will be releasing a new version of iTunes sometime soon with this ability built in.
The iPhone Ringtone maker will be available in the next version of iTunes, but the ability to create Ringtones won’t come until next week.
