iPhone Dev-Team launches yellowsn0w unlock

Ringing in the new year is the iPhone Dev Team, who have just made available their iPhone 3G unlock software, entitled “yellowsn0w.” Contradicting their previous blog posts, however, is the fact that this only runs on the 2.2 firmware, whereas the Dev Team had stated the unlock would not work on this version of the firmware. Additionally, the Dev Team has dubbed the software as version 0.9.1, citing its beta stage of development—only use it if you really are sure of what you’re doing. Yellowsn0w is available via the Cydia application installer, in its own repository. Hit the link at the end for full details.

If you’ve tried to unlock your iPhone, sound off in the comments and let us know if it was a success or not.
