iPhone buzz dying down after launch? Not quite

by Greg Healy on Jul 21, 2007 at 12:59 AM

iPhone vs. ZuneIf you thought that the buzz surrounding the iPhone had died down since its launch, you are wrong. The amount of stories published about the iPhone has seen a steady increase since June 29th according to Apple 2.0. This chart from Blackfriars Communications shows the amount of iPhone stories coming out of Google News as of 9:45 EDT every morning.

You thought the din created by the 11,690 iPhone stories filed on iDay, June 29, was deafening? Astonishingly, the iPhone clatter has only grown louder, reaching a peak of 22,605 stories on July 8 and barely subsiding to 20,497 July 17.

From what I have read, most of the stuff being published about the iPhone these days is positive. With all this free publicity, the iPhone can only grow in popularity. I think it will be a long while before anyone’s news readers are bare of articles about the iPhone.
