iPhone 2.1
As promised by Apple at Tuesday’s Let’s Rock event, the iPhone 2.1 software update is now available for iPhone.

The update includes many bug fixes and improvements, including:

  • Decrease in call drops.
  • Significantly improved battery life for most users (our emphasis).
  • Improved back-up speed.
  • Faster app installation.
  • Improved accuracy of 3G signal strength display.
  • Option to wipe data after ten failed passcode attempts.
  • Genius playlist creation.

Security content for the update is available at Apple’s website.

Those of you waiting for something bigger, such as true iPhone GPS, will have to be content, at least for now, with an iPhone that simply works better.

The 231MB iPhone 2.1 update is free for all iPhone users, and is available through iTunes.
