iPhone 2.0 software already powned like never before

by Josh Holat on Jul 11, 2008 at 05:52 AM

iPhone 3GIs this is even possible for Apple to stop? Before the iPhone 2.0 software even came out, the iPhone Dev Team was able to get a hold of it and both jailbreak and unlock it. Although there is no specific release date yet for the Pwnage tool to come out, there will definitely be one for all you iPhone users who don’t like the idea of the App Store. Due to the in store activation, however, it may not be as interesting as previous versions. Either way, I still find it extremely awesome that these developers were able to do this. Now you will really have to make a choice.

Although I sort of feel bad for Apple because they have no chance of stopping this really, it is also good for them; it shows just how much people want third party apps on their phone, making the release of the App Store all that much more interesting for Apple. Apple has the chance to make the App Store a great feature of the iPhone, and it has already proven to be a great success on the first day. At the end of the day, if you ask me, I think the App Store has the jailbreaking method beat, anyway.
