India Music World to sell Apple products

by Josh Holat on Jun 24, 2008 at 11:05 AM

AppleIndia’s Music World is not only in the process of redesigning its stores and adding new products, it has also landed a nice deal with Apple to bring Apple products into their stores. “We have tied up with Apple for stocking a whole range of products in shop-in-shop format in Music World, including iPods and accessories. Apple employees will train Music World employees, who in turn will assist our consumers on usage of different Apple products,“ said president Subrata Chowdhury. And to help promote these and other new products, Music World is moving ahead and using LCD screens instead of posters to advertise them. Sounds like there is a lot of change going on for Music World over in India.

This deal is really helping Music World expand. They will be adding around 50 stores and 40,000 square feet to their business. Chowdhury added, “The idea is to offer consumers complete personal entertainment, which is a growing category now. So we have to look beyond selling just music and video. The new touch-and-feel look of the stores will also ensure accommodation of 20 percent more products in the stores. The change will be visible by July.“ This sounds like a sweet deal for both companies involved. Congratulations Music World and Apple on reaching a deal!
