Nakahara Informatic’s iGet Mobile, a nifty iPhone-Mac application that allows users to remotely access their documents on Mac through the iPhone just got a new Version 2.0 release. This new version boasts of the following new features; iPhone-specific features through the iGet Mobile web interface, an improved web server component, a redesigned user interface and other enhancements.
Nakahara was also generous enough to enhance the automatic network configuration features of their software to make it easier for users to access their personal servers, even if they don’t have technical expertise on setting up networks.
Wait, it gets sweeter with a new feature which allows users to do on-the-fly document conversions before they view it on the iPhone. That means if a user has a 100MB high-resolution Photoshop image sitting on his Mac’s HD, it can be remotely converted into a standard image format before it gets displayed on the iPhone via remote access using iGet Mobile.
Useful applications such as the iGet Mobile would have been better if it doesn’t cost too much. But if its regular $40 price is not too much for you, then go ahead and give iGet Mobile a spin. Just make sure that your Mac is running on Mac OS X 10.5, as it is one prerequisite to run the software.
