I bet you wish your iPhone did this
If you have a MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air, you are accustomed to the Apple logo on the back of the screen. It lights up when the screen is on; using excess light from the screen itself to illuminate. What makes the iPhone any different? It’s a screen with an Apple logo behind it. Well, a crafty Russian modder has made the Apple logo on the iPhone as brilliant as some might see it.
The modder says that battery life is not heavily affected. Basically, the logo on the back was replaced with a piece of plastic and an LED. The modder has some custom software running on the iPhone (read, jailbroken) that allows the brightness of the logo to be adjusted. Pretty cool, if you ask me. I’m kinda jealous. Here’s a video to show off the awesomeness in action.

This is cool, but I’m thinking it’s maybe too bright. Could just be the dark room though.
on August 15, 2008 at 06:46 PM - LINKI have a feeling that the combination of a dark room and a crappy resolution have this video looking a little worse than it looks in real life.
on August 15, 2008 at 06:55 PM - LINKThat light is *WAY* *WAY* too bright.
