Halloween on your iPod: Horror Express

by Bill Stiteler on Oct 23, 2008 at 09:13 PM

Horror Express animated GifBefore he was Saruman or Count Dooku, Christopher Lee worked with Peter Cushing (who did a turn in the original Star Wars as Grand Moff Tarkin) to create a series of classic horror films for the Hammer studios. And while today’s free movie wasn’t produced by Hammer, it’s certainly got that vibe (and their two most famous actors).

Ladies and gentlemen, Horror Express.

The plot, in a nutshell:

In 1906, on a train racing through Siberia, Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing are engulfed in nightmare when a frozen missing link comes to life.

The film has fallen into the public domain, which means it’s free to download from the Internet Archive, and do with as you please. It’s available in a variety of sizes and formats, including iPod-friendly MPEGs.
