Get A Mac: guy who plays a PC is a real life Mac user

by Opal Tribble on Jun 11, 2008 at 05:50 PM

Get a Mac - John HodgmanWell, well, what do you know? Don’t tell me the guy who plays a PC actually uses a Mac in real life? Say it isn’t so! Yes, it’s true, John Hodgman has been outed. He recently came clean about his devotion to Apple. The New York Daily News caught up with him at the Johnny Walker Blue bottle engraving party and John had this to say, “I play a PC only on television. I’ve used Macs since 1984.” When I was a kid, I talked my dad into getting the very first Mac and I’ve been loyal to the brand ever since.”

I definitely enjoy my Mac, too, but for some reason I never saw John as a Mac guy, perhaps because of the character he plays in the commercials. How silly of me.

Apple has been receiving a lot of attention lately, which isn’t surprising; it is an innovative company that provides excellent products.

Apple has received a lot more recognition lately, and they’ve definitely earned it. I’m not much of a television watcher, so I’ve never seen the broadcasts of the Get A Mac. However, I have caught most of them by logging onto the Apple website. I always felt sorry for the PC guy.

John Hodgman is an author and humorist, and many people know him best for his portrayal of “PC” in the Get a Mac commercials. My favorite is Tech Support.
