Gameprom bringing The Pinball to the Mac, in 3D, with iPhone flippers

by Kirk Hiner on Feb 9, 2010 at 07:39 PM

The PinballApple’s always happy to let you know that when it comes to their iPhone, “There’s an app for that.” I’m always happy to let you know when that app is pinball. Some of the best on the iPhone come from Gameprom, but now they’ve outdone themselves. Their forthcoming app—Pinball Remote—allows you to use your iPhone for flipper and plunger control on the pending Mac versions of their popular iPhone apps.

The Mac versions of Wild West, The Deep and Jungle Style will all be part of a single program called The Pinball.

The games will feature:

  • 3D-engine that maxes out your Mac’s capabilities
  • camera effects
  • realistic physics and sounds
  • local and global high score tables
  • and more

What’s more, the best feature likely isn’t the iPhone flipper control, but the fact that all of the games will support 3D stereoscopic glasses. Sound like a gimmick? Well, what part of a good pinball machine isn’t a gimmick?

The Pinball is currently set for release on March 1st, 2010.
