Freeverse brings “awesome balls” to the iPhone

by Kirk Hiner on Sep 24, 2008 at 11:52 AM

Flick BowlingAre you frustrated by the high number of fingers required for real bowling? Freeverse is here to help you with that, having just announced the release of Flick Bowling for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Using the advanced touchscreen technology of the iPhone and iPod touch, players are able to choose their ball, line up their shot, and adjust the ball’s velocity and direction all with the flick of their finger. The game features six colorful characters and fully 3D console-quality environments.

Fun for a quick play or a longer session, Flick Bowling offers a variety of awesome balls, a range of difficulty levels, and the ability to bowl alone or against one of the computer characters.

No multiplayer is available, but if you’re anything like me, Freeverse characters are more fun than your real friends, anyway.

“This game would not be possible on any handheld device besides the iPhone,” said Ian Lynch Smith, President of Freeverse. “The touch-screen interface allows us to build games that have never been possible before.”

Freeverse plans to release additional Flick Sports titles for the iPhone, including Flick Fishing, Golf, Basketball, Baseball, and Soccer.

Flick Bowling is immediately available for $4.99 from the iTunes App Store.
