Free Apps roundup for September 4th, 2009

Free Apps roundup for September 4th, 2009Another week, another sad attempt to keep your iPhone or iPod touch’s home screens in order. I’ve given up. Until Apple adds an organization utility to either the iPhone or iTunes it’s beyond me to keep anything in order. Oh well. So here are some more free apps to add to the problem! Enjoy.

  • NFL Mobile - Are you a diehard football fan? Then you probably have a subscription to NFL SuperFan and watch NFL Sunday Ticket religiously, or at least you’d like to. This app allows you to be a fully functional part of society again by streaming NFL Sunday Ticket live to your iPhone connected on WiFi. No longer will you be constrained by the viewing area of your television, now you are free to be anywhere there is WiFi. But let’s be honest about that fully functional part of society bit. You’ll likely be screaming every few minutes. It’s okay.
  • Time.com Mobile - I just don’t know whose journalism you could trust more than ours, but TIME claims that they are pretty trustworthy too. IDK, but this app will supply you with the latest top stories and scores of other goodies. If you like TIME, you’ll like this. Personally, I just want to be on the cover. Sadly, this app won’t do that for you.
  • Radio Disney - What could be better than radio?  Disney-fied radio of course!  This connects up to RadioDisney.com and plays all of your favorite Disney tunes.  Yes, I said your favorites.  It’s alright really, you’re not the only one who listens to Disney music.  All the cool kids, and old dudes do too.
  • Chipotle Ordering - Hungry?  Don’t want to wait in line?  Chipotle Ordering lets you, well, order a meal from Chipotle, pay with credit card and pick it up in about 20 minutes.  And just to add to its appeal, next time you can just order what you had last time, further simplifying the process of stuffing your face with food.
  • TWI - It’s kind of like the F-MyLife app, but instead of being limited to crappy situations retold, it’s more focused on just interesting bits of info from the minds of others on the internet.  Some of this is quite amusing.  I’m told this is basically just TextsFromLastNite.com
  • Cube3DPuzzleLite - That’s a mouth-full, but the game looks quite fun.  Imagine a set of 16, six sided dice.  These dice have parts of images on each side and, if assembled correctly, will reveal an individual image.  The best part is that you can customize every part of the game.  You can use your own pictures and you can choose how many cubes (or dice) or split it up into.  This lite version tops out at 20 of your own images.
  • Button - This claims to be the world’s first passive game, but I think they’d take that back if they’ve ever seen me play Chess.  In any event, the game is played while doing other things, much like how you do work intermittently between prolonged sessions of internet browsing.  All you have to do is press the big shiny button when it lights up.  The kicker?  It’s linked to everyone else who’s playing the game.  Every button lights up at the same time worldwide.  Scary.
