Free Apps Roundup for November 7, 2008

Free Apps Roundup for November 7, 2008Another week, another list. Here are some more apps to help keep your iPhone or iPod Touch home screen both full and disorganized. Try out some apps now and delete them before iPhone firmware 2.2 bugs you to rate it. Or maybe you’ll love these so much that they’ll never leave.

  • MobileFiles - Offered by Quickoffice, it’s the only free file solution for your iDevice to connect to your files on MobileMe. So you need a MobileMe account, but if you have that, don’t pay any more. Grab this app to keep some files with you on the go.
  • NatsuLion for iPhone - If you are addicted to Twitter, then you probably already know and love Twitteriffic. But a little change never hurt anyone. NatsuLion is another twitter client for the iPhone. It’s actually quite nice looking, and has all the features you need. Plus, it’s free. Fully free. So it’s a great choice for anyone who’s sick of of Twitteriffic’s ads.
  • iClouds Lite - Relax to moving clouds. This app simulates clouds in the sky. Not the dark, stormy type that are probably going to rain on your parade, but the nice bright white ones. There’s no real purpose to this app, but it looks nice.
  • Asteroid Assault - Just like Asteroids. Well…almost. You are in a ship that can pivot to shoot all of the asteroids on the screen. Only problem is, so far, you can’t move. But I’m hoping the dev keeps working on that and updates it in the not too distant future. Then this game could be a ton more fun.
  • Checkers Free - Because chess is too hard? What can I say, it’s checkers, and it’s free. Looks pretty nice too. There are ads, but they aren’t a deal breaker on this one.
  • MiniPiano - It’s no MooCowMusic app, but it does simulate a 14 key piano, though I’ve never actually seen a piano with only 14 keys. It might be simple, but it’s enough to experiment with a melody, or, you know, just bang on some keys like you do every time you walk past a keyboard in a store. That just never gets old.

The main screen of Babyphone shows the current status, the microphone sensitivity and the threshold for triggering the alarm.

If the Microphone’s display reaches or exceeds the set threshold, the previously defined phone number will be called. After completion of the call and the expiration of the delay Babyphone will reactivate itself again.

In the settings you can enter the number to call. In addition, there is a sleeping interval with an adjustable delay in minutes, after which Babyphone will reactivate itself again.

This is also one new app for the iPhone just have a look at this app.

A fluorescent firework is filling your screen. A bundle of light follows your finger. Ever changing rainbow colors come down like a never ending meteor-shower. When you double tap on the screen the little shooting stars combust into thousands of particles. The composition of colors are beautiful and you won’t get bored watching the spectacle for hours. The truly amazing thing about this application is how well the automatic generation of particles blends together with the explicit control of your finger. It feels like your action is an extension of the intelligence that the light objects posses already. It’s a true unique application that has come to the iPhone that you will not regret buying. Oh and if you want to save your art you can simply use the screen capture function (hold home & lock) of the iPhone. Those patterns make for great artistic images for Christmas cards. Let the show begin!
