Free Apps roundup for November 6th, 2009

Another great week for freebies on the App Store. Lots of information, apps and games, which is good news if your weekend was going to be bland. Now it can be full of icons instead! Cameras, toys, religion, games, and Family Guy. You couldn’t ask for too much more.

  • Eliminate Pro - Undeniably the best free app of the week. This is the first online FPS for iPhone. It looks awesome, and logically, it’s free. Yeah, I’m surprised too. It has all the features of an app that should cost at least $10, if not more. You can kill others online any time you have a connection. That’s one of the only two drawbacks. It’s online only, and there are in app purchases, so it’s not completely free. Still, it’s definitely worth a look.
  • Toys ‘r’ Us Big Book Favorites - No, I don’t want to, and have thus far refused to grow up, so I can still look at the Toys ‘r’ Us big book. Apparently, this is the biggest book ever; thus, they had to move some of it to an app. You can find deals, makes lists and otherwise drool over all the reasons you’re still single. I mean, all of those awesome action figures and toys and stuff!
  • Logos Bible - If the Toys ‘r’ Us book just isn’t big enough for you, perhaps this possible end all, be all Bible app is. It has access to a ton of Bible versions, will compare between them, and lets you search. You can tap and hold a word for various forms of information on it. There are more features here than most would dare shake a stick at.
  • Hebrew Alphabet QuickRef - And while you’re at it with the Bible app, why don’t you brush up on your Hebrew too?
  • Nikon Learn & Explore - What’s with all of the information apps this week? I’m not sure. But Nikon has a great app here for learning about photography, and you don’t have to own a Nikon to get use out of it. Give it a download, and do some more learning this weekend, it’ll be good for you.
  • GeoGeo Wars (LITE) - In the same vein as games such as Geometry Wars, this app is a free version of a space shooter. Move around and shoot all of the enemies that appear on screen. Oh yeah, try not to have a seizure from all the bright colors and flashes and stuff too. That’s like the secondary goal, I hear.
  • Gravity Sling - An app that takes advantage of in app purchases, this app comes with 15 gravity based levels. Use inertia and gravity to slingshot your astronaut to the space ship.
  • Family Guy: Uncensored Free - I make no promises on the quality of this app, but hey, it’s Family Guy, it’s uncensored, and it’s free. Enough said.
