Free Apps roundup for May 1st, 2009
Another relatively quiet week on the App Store. But don’t worry, there were still plenty of fun and useful apps to be had. Mostly demos, but there’s also a nice app to record audio with. And yes, I know it’s coming in iPhone 3.0, but this one is fun. Check it out.
- Tapes Lite - If you’re going to market an app that’s going to be completely free from Apple in the coming months, it better at least be novel. Tapes Lite is novel. It will record audio, share it over WiFi, and best of all, look like an old school tape recorder the entire time. The tape will even jam up and get destroyed just like the real thing, oh wait, sorry, it doesn’t do that.
- Galaxy On Fire 3D Lite - A huge galaxy full of planets and space stations…and, inevitably, aliens who need to be destroyed. If it’s 3D space flighting you’re looking for, you could do a lot worse than downloading this one.
- iDestroy Lite - Your iPhone might be the most amazing gadget you’ve ever owned, but you’re still likely to get fed up with the stupid thing. Use iDestroy Lite to blast some holes in the little jerk the next time it locks up.
- Maze Shifter Lite - Because 3D mazes are awesome! If you’re too slow, the maze will shift on you, meaning that the walls will move and you’ll probably start crying because you were so close to the finish, but now you have no idea where you are again.
- Wolfenstein 3D Classic Lite - The first three levels of Episode 1. Run around and kill Nazis, which for some reason doesn’t sound that bad, right?
- KFC Grillz - Unthink what you thought about KFC, or self respect. Slap a grill on your face and let everyone know that you aren’t afraid to order non-fried food from a restaurant who’s middle name is Fried.
