Free Apps roundup for December 12, 2008Here are your new, fun, and free apps to hit the App Store for December 12, 2008. It’s definitely worth your time to check out at least a few of these.

  • SlyDial - Have you ever wanted to leave someone a message but not actually hold a conversation with them? So, maybe you try to catch them at a bad time so they won’t answer, but that’s easier said than done. SlyDial connects you straight to a contact’s voicemail so you never have to speak directly to a human again. Pretty sly.
  • Fuzzle Christmas - If you didn’t buy Fuzzle yet, then here’s your chance to give it a try. This version has a holiday theme to it, but otherwise, it’s still Fuzzle, and that’s a good thing. Try it. You’ll like it.
  • Remote Pad - Here’s an awesome utility to get for free. Use your iDevice like a wireless trackpad. You can have up to three virtual buttons, and you can scroll by dragging with two fingers just like on a regular trackpad. The only downside to this app is that you’ll need to run an application on your desktop to get it to work. Still, pretty good for free.
  • SPACE DEADBEEF - I know this sounds a bit silly, but it’s visually pretty awesome.  It’s a sidescrolling shooter where you tap the enemies to shoot at them. Check it out.
  • Rhyme - A rhyming dictionary for your iPhone. This kind of utility is extremely useful for songwriters.
  • Lie Detector - Now you can use technology based on the voice analysis software used by the CIA and FBI to tell if your friends are lying to you. Pretty neat. The app comes with a warning, so use at your own risk.
  • Quick Block - You control a green block. The goal is to collect as many blue blocks as possible by crashing into them but avoiding everything else. Sounds simple, but it’s really fun.
