Free Apps roundup for August 14th, 2009Another week, another online video service enables support for the iPhone 3GS via an app on the App Store. Don’t worry, there aren’t many more services left. But seriously, there are more apps and utilities below that I hope you will find useful. Oddly enough, I didn’t pick out any game demos this week. Enjoy.

  • Qik - This web service is known for their ability to handle live video streams; this app however, is not.  While you can’t do the one thing you actually want to do, you can use the app to automatically upload video from an iPhone 3GS to Qik’s site, provided that you are using WiFi.  If you love Qik, you’ll want this one.
  • GrooveMaker FREE - This is IK Multimedia’s first dive into the App Store. With this app, you can get a feel for what their other flavors of GrooveMaker might have in store for you by mixing beats together into your own remix. You might even find that you have a DJ hiding inside of you, but I wouldn’t hold your breath, because I’m betting you don’t.
  • Free Zoom - Guess what it does! It lets you fake digitally zoom with the iPhone’s built in camera. Of course, you could do this later on your Mac, but why wait when you can do it now!
  • HDR for Free - Another appropriately named photography utility. This one applies a filter to make your photos have the illusion of being HDR images. It’s not real, but what is anymore? Still, you have to admire the idea behind these apps. Made by users who don’t like buying apps, so they provide free apps for others. Check it out.
  • iShareMusic - This app provides an easy way for you to help your friends listen to better music. If you’ve ever wanted an easy way of sending iTunes store links, this is it. Just pick the songs or albums or what-have-you, and this app does the rest. Fill in the email address and your music to-do list is on its way.
  • FMyLife FML - Having a bad day? Nothing can quick pick you back up like reading about the infinitely worse experiences of others, am I right? Misery loves company, but soon enough, you’ll be feeling pretty good about yourself. If not, you can always post a new story and tell the world of your misfortunes.
  • MyCokeRewards - Drink a lot of Coke do you? Might want to cash in on those rewards so you can maybe get some more Coke. Mmmmm, Coke.
