Acting on a tip about a possible burglary the Elk Grove Police Department were able to set up surveillance at Apple Computer. Detectives had received a tip that a burglary was set to take place on August 26th, they contacted Apple and started the surveillance with the help of Apple’s corporate security. About 2:30 am the detectives were able to watch both suspects gain access to the grounds by cutting through a fence, after gaining access to the property they attempted to get access into the building by forcing open a door. The two suspects were unable to gain access to the building and fled on foot when approached by the detectives. Detectives were able to arrest Dominic Aguilar and Richard Mejia a short time later and charge them with conspiracy and attempted burglary. Both Aguilar and Mejia were former employees.
