FastMac wants to charge your spare MacBook battery

by Stephen Chinnadorai on May 27, 2008 at 03:08 PM

U-ChargeBatteries are essential for your MacBook or MacBook Pro, most of us charge them whenever near a power outlet by simply plugging them in. But there are those situations when you need a spare battery or even more than one spare. Mac laptop owners can now use FastMac’s universal laptop battery charger. Named “U-Charge”, the device can charge a virtually infinite list of Apple laptops – ranging from iBooks to MacBooks.

The $69 universal charger includes a variety of different adaptors, for the different Apple laptops that it can power. The following Macs can be charged by the U-Charge:

  • iBook G3 12-inch
  • iBook G4 12-inch
  • MacBook 13-inch
  • MacBook Pro 15-inch
  • MacBook Pro 17-inch
  • PowerBook G3 Bronze (Lombard)
  • PowerBook G3 Pismo
  • PowerBook G4 12-inch
  • PowerBook G4 15-inch
  • PowerBook G4 17-inch

Almost all of Apple’s notebook lineup for 5 years is there, with the exception of the MacBook Air, which does not have a removable battery. Unfortunately, it’s not available right now – but FastMac expects to ship these within the next 30 days.
