MacBook Pro rumors have been sweeping around, and an update was widely expected at Macworld. However Macworld came and went, and February seems to be the new date for a MacBook Pro update.
A MacRumors reader found a public battery log that carried the system identification of “MacBook Pro4,1.” The current MacBook Pros carry a system identification of “MacBook Pro3,1.” The battery log info has been confirmed to have come from an Apple IP address. MacRumors also noted that the 4,1 identifier appears in developer builds of Mac OS X 10.5.2.
All this leads to the likely conclusion that the new MacBook Pros are coming very soon, most likely with the release of 10.5.2.
The MacBook Air was outed in a similar way last month via some Adium logs.
