3G iPhone “pre-orders” already available on eBay

Here we go again, guys. Remember when the first generation iPhone came out and hundreds of sales started for it on eBay before it was even available? Yeah, well those pre-order sales are back, but this time they are for the 3G iPhone. However, what’s interesting about these eBay sales are how high they arethey range anywhere from $300 to $600+, depending on the size you want. I find it completely amazing how much more people spend to get a product a few days before others. The 3G iPhone doesn’t even come out until July 11th, and there is no way all of these pre-orders will be able to get their hands on a phone. My only warning is to watch out for scams everyone, eBay is a crazy place.
That said, there are a few ways to protect yourself. For one, only buy from power sellers with good feedback to make sure they aren’t just going to steal your money. Also, try e-mailing the seller to make sure the person on the other end is willing to communicate with you. That will help prove he/she is actually planning on carrying through with the deal.
However, a better suggestion is to just wait. You don’t want to lose hundreds of dollars to a scam on eBay when you could just wait a few days longer to get the 3G iPhone after it comes out. I know it’s hard, but we’ll all eventually get our own 3G iPhone.

How is this possible if you cannot get a phone without a plan? Anyway, why would someone pay extra for a phone that won’t even ship until the same day that they could get it in a store for much less money? Last time i checked, the auctions were well above $600. Someone is about to get ripped off big time.
