Disctop

by Stephen Chinnadorai on Jan 12, 2008 at 06:09 PM

Disctop Have you ever inserted a disc into your Mac’s drive and then shut it down - completely forgetting that you had a disc in there? Disctop will prevent that from happening again. It’s a cool free app that displays a semi-transparent picture of a disc on your Mac’s desktop. What’s even cooler about it is the amount of detail that has been put into it. If you’re inserting a movie DVD or an audio CD, it will download the disc art from Amazon.com and beautifully display it on top of the disc. Disctop will even ask you what kind of Mac you have, to ensure that the disc is on the right position on the screen, and that the eject timing is perfect. A lot of time has gone into this and it really is an amazing app, even though its purpose is small.

You can download it from the developer’s website.
