Custom Ringtones for your iPhone, but there’s a catch

by Michael Yurechko on Jul 27, 2007 at 02:01 AM

Sick of hearing that Marimba iPhone ringtone? Want to use your own song or mp3 instead? Well the guys at Mobility Today are looking to change that with the iPhoneRingToneMaker. But, as always, there is a catch. If you’re a Mac user, you’ll have to fire up BootCamp or Parallels to use this software as it’s Windows Vista/XP only.

The software allows you to import mp3, wav, or ogg files and then clip/cut parts out and add some small effects, then immediately put them onto your iPhone and use them as ringtones. The application appears to take advantage of the “jailbreak” hack to add the new ringtones.

The software is $9.95 until August 31st, after that it goes back up to $19.95. But be warned, this may void your warranty.
