comScore iPhone search reportIf the interest for the iPhone through search-related activities on the web will be our basis of how popular it is, then 6.9 million searches in April 2008 alone is certainly enough to say the iPhone is indeed a most sought after device. Latest data from a comScore study has actually showed this “phenomenon.”

According to comScore, around 1.3 million people conducted 6.9 million iPhone related searches in April 2008. The report also revealed that the most common search term used by these 1.3 million people was “iPhone,” generating around 1.5 million searches. Following this search term is “iPhone update,” which garnered a total of 151,000 searches, “iPhone 2.0” with 75,000 searches and “iPhone 3G” with 60,000 searches.

Other noteable findings of the report showed that Google search got the most number of click-throughs, and Apple was the top destination of these click-throughs.16.5% of these click-throughs were the result of paid search listings, while the remaining 83.5% were from organic search results. AT&T received the highest share of their search clicks coming from paid links.
