CES 2010: Monster Cable releases new headphones and networking solutions
Monster Cable, like many other technology companies, is riding the wave of CES 2010. An updated line of in-ear headphones have made it to light, as well as a couple of new and exciting products that, if they’re successful, could feature in many homes as a valuable part of the Internet-access infrastructure. Let’s take a look at what Monster Cable have brought to the table this week.
Turbine Pro Copper In-Ear Speakers
If you’re anything of an audiophile, you’re likely to be on the lookout for the best quality headphones you can lay your hands on. You’d probably take close looks at companies such as Bose and Altec Lansing, but you may have passed by Monster Cable. Enter the Turbine Pro Copper In-Ear Speakers, said to give “music professionals an unprecedented reference quality listening solution” according to their press release. We’ve not been able to try these out ourselves, but they certainly look impressive, and should give incredibly accurate representation of audio across all frequencies, with especially punchy bass.

Jamz In-Ear Headphones
Despite Monster Cable having a reputation for being the world leader in power conditioning and surge protection products, their venture into the audio markets is certainly proving successful. Although they don’t look it, the Jamz are their low-end headphones, which pride themselves on being “virtually indestructible.” To prove their point, they put the Jamzheadphones to the test against a fork-lift. To see a video of the result, read Jake Gaecke’s report from Las Vegas.

Powernet 1G
Now for something a little closer to home for Monster Cable. If your home network consists of a single wireless router that barely reaches outside of the room its in, you might want to consider the Powernet 1G. The idea behind said device is to utilize the electrical wiring already in place to create a high speed Ethernet network. The device simply plugs into an empty socket and your router, while another device plugs into another empty socket in a different room. You then plug this second device from the socket to your computer to access the Internet.
