The folks at boxee have update their fantastic media application to support Netflix streaming on the Mac, among other things.
The good news is that Netflix works just like you’d expect it to on the Mac. There is full support for Instant Queue, recommendations, browsing, searching and Netflix Watch Instantly.
The bad news is that Netflix is only currently supported on the Mac. The Apple TV’s processor just couldn’t handle it. But that’s not to say that future updates won’t support it, because they’re still trying.
But let’s not let Netflix claim the whole update. The newest alpha update to boxee also includes:
Overall, this is a fantastic update, well worth the download. Perhaps in a future update the Apple TV will also support Netflix. That would be awesome.
