Behind the scenes: iPhone Musical

by Greg Healy on Jul 19, 2007 at 02:36 PM

David PogueBack around the first of July you may remember when David Pogue released his iPhone Musical video. This video was a parody set to the tune of (I Did It) My Way originally a song sung in French. If you are interested in how the video came about and was created, Pogue has released a “behind the scenes” of the video. He answers some of the frequently asked questions that readers have sent in.

The Q&A provides an insight into the work that went into getting this video finished. There are also a few interesting tidbits, like the video started off as a challenge from Brian Lam of Gizmodo to do a high-tech song spoof about the iPhone, and in the scene with the kayaker, he doesn’t actually throw a cellphone into the water. From reading through the post it looks like the lip-syncing in post production was the hardest, but in the end the video still turned out pretty good.

If you watched the video, this “behind the scenes” look is a great compliment to it. I always find it interesting to find out how things are done, and this post doesn’t disappoint.
