Aquamacs Emacs, a variant of the the widely-used text-based editor Emacs, which runs on Mac OS X, just got upgraded to v1.4. Programmers and writers will be glad to know that latest version now includes features such as a multi-tabbed interface, full screen editing, no more backup files, a unified toolbar, improved Latex support, improved text search, and automatic checking of program updates.
This new version of Aquamacs Emacs was adapted to the Mac’s “Aqua” user interface, which means it now runs as a standard OS X application. In addition, Aquamacs Emacs 1.4 now looks better and integrates better with other Mac applications. The program is easy to install and offers normal OS X keyboard commands together with other extended Emacs ones.
To download the Aquamacs Emacs 1.4 software, head on to the Aquamacs website. Make sure you have Mac OS X v10.3.9 running on your machine before you install.
