I won’t be able to watch all the live updates as they come in, unfortunately, since I only get off for lunch at 12 CST and have to be back at school for 1, but I still can’t wait. :)

My predictions: obvious Leopard talk with some of the ‘secret features’ being shown, including (I hope) a new UI. I’m also hoping for an update to .mac.

    See more at http://peternorris.net

Leopard steals the show with many or all formerly secret features revealed.  I predict a new Finder as one of these.

I also think there will be significant talk on the iPhone, and there will be an SDK released to developers.

Thats the good thing in living in europe. At the time the Keynote starts, I will be back from work. ;)

    Now to my two cents:
Feature complete Leopard has already been anounced. I give my bet on iPhone integration and a new Interface, including resolution independance. Fitting to this new Flat screens with more dpi as one more thing.
Another good guess is iLife 07, I think. But we will see very soon. :)

We predict that they are going to unveil a Transformers/Iphone crossover product that can not only retrieve your e-mail and web video for you, but also a coffee just the way you like it.

    ;)

  • My predictions are this: Apple will probably be talking about Leopard, and they probably will be talking a little bit about the iPhone. I say “probably” because it is difficult to predict the future. I’m gonna tune in at 6.00pm tonight!

    Awesome!

  • Nice, my predictions:
    -Description of hidden iPhone features
    -Release of new iMacs
-Description of 0SX 10.5 (including the secret features)
-Update to .Mac services & iLife

    Predictions:

    iPhone SDK
    New MacBook (with santa rosa)
Some tweaks to the finder interface
Demo of core graphics gui stuff.
talks of universal and 64 bit stuff

and of course some mention of how iTunes is doing

    My predictions…

Leopard feature complete beta release sold at show. I guess that’s not a prediction since it’s been announced…

Massive improvements in thread management and (not mentioned) UI stalling. VPN on demand finally works and numerous silly long standing bugs are fixed or made irrelevant.

UI is not significantly different. Lots of changes for various things but no one is going to wonder how to use the thing.

New Pro hardware that doesn’t look like a cheese grater.

    4K displays with DisplayPort interfaces.

Lots of discussion/slides on text rendering.

There is an implcation of very high resolution iMacs (~190-200 dpi), redesigned, with nVidia 8800 series GPU’s. Their release/announcement will coincide with Leopard’s release.

.Mac integration is system wide and with many service improvements. The new system truly takes your desktop to wherever you may log in.

iLife may not be mentioned but if it is will be radically changed to show off Apples Core Animation technology.

Hardware acceleration of H.264 rendering on Pro hardware which is serveral times faster than real time (depending on profile).

Apple TV updates shown. YouTube et.al.

My crazy prediction… The pixel camera pattent (http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn9059”) is incorporated into some displays. Steve makes a show of talking about how Apple’s mouse revolutionized computing, walks over to a trash bin and throws one away then proceeds to demonstrate how Apple uses these new displays to track your eyes accurately essentially negating the need for a mouse. This works great for pretty much anything that you don’t need pixel level accuracy or independant control (some games for instance… for now anyway).

Oh, and one more thing.  ;)

Google apps are incorporated into the .Mac service and integrated with the iLife suite.

The event is to be held at 10:00 in Cupertino at Apple Town Hall. Apple Town Hall has been used for other special events such as the introduction of Aluminum iMac’s in July of last year.
