If you need to manage your Netflix queue on the go—and let’s be honest here, it’s pretty much the reason the internet, electricity, and written language was invented—you have quite a few choices, from the free, to the ad-supported, to apps you have to pay for. iRentMovie - Netflix Manager for iPhone, is a solid application that any Netflix user would find useful, but includes little that you can’t find in other, cheaper apps.

iRentMovie is stable, and once you link it to your Netflix account (or sign up for a free trial), you can view your queue, change the order of the DVDs you’ll be receiving, search for other movies and shows, and add them to the list with a single click. You can also view, add, and alter your Watch Instantly queue, browse recommendations, and look at lists of the top rentals and new releases. In short, it does exactly what you need a Netflix app to do, giving you almost everything you’d get from your desktop (except for actually watching movies via Watch Instantly, which no iPhone application does).

Altering your queue is simplicity itself, just hit the Edit button in the upper right hand corner, and either delete the disc using the red symbol or drag it to a different position. If you’re searching for a movie or looking at recommendations, hit the Add button and it’ll be placed at the bottom of your queue (though an option to add it to the top would be nice).

The only problem with iRentMovie is that its features are largely duplicated or exceeded by pFlix. The only feature that iRentMovie has is that you can view your entire rental history, while pFlix limits you to your recent returns. pFlix also includes links to YouTube trailers and the built-in ability to Tweet your movie reviews of recommendations. Granted, for some, Twitter is a bug and not a feature, but is viewing your rental history worth the $2 more that iRentMovie costs? Luckily, for cheapskates (like me) who don’t mind ad-supported software (like me) there’s also a free “lite” version.

But for those who simply must have full access to their rental history and want a stable and easy-to-use Netflix queue manager, this is your app.
