I must say that Comic Touch is a very unique application for the iPhone/iPod touch, and does a very good job at editing and adding comical effects to pictures directly on the iPhone or iPod touch. Comic Touch is a mixture of plasq’s two other apps for Mac OS XSkitch and Comic Lifeas it allows users to edit images with a variety of different effects, including Bulge, Dent, Squeeze, Stretch, and Light. It also offers the ability to add speech bubbles and captions to a photo to give it the feel of a comic.
Once you’re satisfied with your creation, you may save it to your iPhone or iPod touch’s photo library, and/or upload it to a variety of servicessuch as Flickr and Photobucketas well as e-mail it to anyone you please. Unfortunately, at this time, you’re not able to take pictures directly within Comic Touch. However, this feature may be implemented in future versions of the app. For now, you’ll have to import photos from your photo library into Comic Touch in order to edit and apply changes to them.
Comic Touch operates flawlessly, and is a very eye-pleasing and productive app for editing pictures. It has been very reliable so far, and hasn’t crashed for me at all. I would like to see plasq make the image effects a bit more complex and add a few more, since the choices available now are quite plain and minimal. Overall, though, Comic Touch is a really great app for editing images and sending them to friends and/or uploading them to the internet.
