Apple’s laptop share Increases, HP continues to dominate

by Mark Rowland on Jun 10, 2008 at 05:21 PM

HPIn a recent survey by the NPD Group, some interesting new things have happened regarding market shares, specifically for laptops. Although Hewlett Packard and Dell continue to dominate with 20.8% and 15.1% market shares respectively, Apple is approaching fast. With Sony and their VAIO slipping to a distant 9th place (from 6th), Apple finally dug itself out of 8th place, and is now up to 7th. Apple’s gigantic 61% sales increase was surpassed only by the maker of the popular EEE PC, Asus, who took over Apple’s old 8th spot. Asus had a year-over-year sales increase of 67%.

With Apple’s sales figures skyrocketing across the board, the sky seems to be the limit for them at the moment. Don’t screw it up, Steve!
