I would like to quickly note that Penryn isn’t a chipset. Penryn is the code name for the latest mobile Intel Core 2 Duo processors using 45nm architecture and featuring Intel’s new hafnium based formula and new SSE4 instructions.
Currently, MacBooks are using Penryn chips on a Santa Rosa chipset.
