Apple unleashes Mac OS X v10.5.6 update via Software Update

Mac OS X v10.5.6 update
Apple just let loose an update to our favorite big cat, notching it up to v10.5.6. This update is recommended for all Leopard users and increases stability, compatibility and security of the system.

What’s in the update? Here are some of the noteables from the release.

  • Addrss Book - Improved reliability of Address Book syncing with iPhone and other devices and applications.
  • AirPort - Improves the reliability of AirPort connections, including improvements when roaming in large wireless networks with an Intel-based Mac.
  • Graphics - Includes graphics improvements for iChat, Cover Flow, Aperture, and iTunes. Also includes general improvements to gaming performance.
  • Mail - Includes overall performance and reliability fixes.
  • MobileMe - Contacts, calendars, and bookmarks on a Mac automatically sync within a minute of the change being made on the computer, another device, or the web at me.com.
  • General - Includes Mac OS X security improvements.

Get the update by running Software Update in the Apple system menu.

    I have the new os x v10.5.6 of leopard but it will not install.  I even let it configure over night.  I live in the US, but am stationed over sea… why will the update not install?
