Apple to introduce 8GB iPhone 3GS, replace 8GB 3G?

In June, Apple did not fully phase out the 2008 model of the iPhone, the 3G. Instead, they chose to sell the 8GB model of the iPhone 3G in stores—that is, until a time when supply of the device is exhausted. This may be closer than we previously thought, as the Boy Genius Report has a picture of a supposed Rogers internal message, titled “Rogers 8GB iPhone transitioning to 3GS.”

The message, seemingly directed to the staff of all Rogers stores, mentions making the “transition” from the iPhone 3G 8GB to the 8GB 3GS as “smooth” as possible.  It also states that Rogers’s main goal is to reduce inventory levels of the iPhone 3G. In other words, Rogers is imploring its staff to continue to push the old iPhone 3G, even if an all-around better 3GS model is introduced with the same amount of storage.

Should this message turn out to be factual, it begs a couple questions: when will this happen, and how much will the new iPhone cost? My guess is that any change to Apple’s line of anything will happen in their to-be-expected September event, though the event is generally only used to update the iPod line. As for price, I hope Apple intros this lower-storage iPhone 3GS at the nice 100 dollar price.  Hopefully, Apple drops the price of the iPhone 3G (seeing as how Rogers wants to continue to sell them) to $50 or so.  That would bring an even sharper increase in the iPhone adoption rate and Apple’s profits.

Having an iPhone is my dream. Apple iPhone 3GS is much better than iPhone 3G. It has excellent features and design. It is a good performer. I am planning to buy one on my birthday. For more details on other models refer http://www.etechreviews.net/
