Remember that hot new job title, the iPod Repair Man? Well, that job is going to downhill really fast as Apple has gotten wind of it and doesn’t like it one bit. In a nine page lawsuit filing, Apple is suing a repair man for misuse of the iPod trademark (at his website iPod Mechanic), as well for tricking Apple into sending him replacement units for free. Apple reportadly reached an agreement with the repair man, Nicholas Woodhams, back in 2006 saying that he would drop the iPod Mechanic name and domain by January 2007, which obviously didn’t happen. This guy is in for one fun ride.
This is unfortunate for Woodhams, as he had a nice little business going that was helping a lot of people with their iPods. Although he was helpful to many, he was also breaking laws, according to Apple, and therefore must be taken to court. Hopefully, Woodhams will be able to find another way to use his great repair skills if Apple wins this case.
