Apple stores not so secure?

by Marvin Sum on Aug 23, 2007 at 05:37 AM

Applestore Burglary

According to MacNN, thieves managed to enter through the ceiling at the Apple Store in University Village, Washington. They managed to get into the technical work area of the store and scored a couple of laptops there for service (I’m not sure what the deal is with stealing malfunctioning laptops). Other stuff, including refurbished iPhones were also missing, although the police noted that all doors remained secure.

This isn’t the first time a brick and mortar Apple Store has been infiltrated. Earlier this year in January, burglars got away with 42 4GB iPod Nanos (valued at $8,450) by stealing a 2x2x6-feet glass display case in broad daylight at the Twenty-Ninth Street Store in Colorado. It seems like being the most popular retailer out there comes with its own costs.
