Apple seeds 10.5.4 build 9e12 to developers

by Mark Rowland on Jun 13, 2008 at 05:42 PM

Today, Apple seeded the newest version of Mac OS X v10.5.4 to developers. The new version is build 9e12. Currently, the biggest additions are support for MobileMe, Apple’s new replacement for .Mac. MobileMe will enable users to sync contacts, e-mail, and iCal events between many different devices seamlessly.

Given that MobileMe is slated for release in July, and that it requires Mac OS 10.5.4 along with iTunes 7.7, it is safe to say those updates will be released around the same time, probably a few days before. Although Mac OS 10.4.11 is compatible with MobileMe, the MobileMe transition FAQ states that certain features and functionalities require 10.5.4 along with iLife ‘08.
