Apple gives back, announces this years design award winners

by Josh Holat on Jun 12, 2008 at 01:00 PM

Apple Design AwardsEvery year, Apple gives out awards to some of the best designed and most innovative apps out there for their operating system, and this year was no different. Coming in from many different categories, there are a variety of apps on the list this year. The iLife has a complete gallery and live blog from the event. Here were some of the winners:

  • Best iPhone Social Networking Application Winner: Twitterrific by The Iconfactory
  • Best iPhone Game Winner: Enigmo by Pangea Software, Inc.
  • Best iPhone Productivity Application Winner: OmniFocus by The Omni Group
  • Best Mac OS X Leopard User Experience Winner: Macnification by Orbicule
  • Best Mac OS X Leopard Application Winner: ScreenFlow by Vara Software Limited
  • Best Leopard Student Product Winner: Squirrel by Axel Peju

It’s nice to see Apple giving something back to their developers and recognizing them for all their hard work. Without these people doing that they do, Apple’s operating system would not be nearly as functional as it is today. With so many different choices to solve every problem, these developers help make the Mac OS X and iPhone experiences a great one. Keep it up, guys, and keep developing; we love your work!
