Apple engineers paid less than most?

by Josh Holat on Jun 18, 2008 at 05:20 PM

Apple Color LogoData from Glassdoor, a site where employees can submit their salaries and other information, has shown that Apple engineers are among the lowest paid when compared to other Silicon Valley companies. Coming in at approximately $89,000 a year, they can be compared to Yahoo! and Microsoft engineers who make around $105,000 a year. However, if you want to bring in the big bucks, Google is at the top of the list with a salary of about $112,573 for engineers.

Although Apple engineers may not make as much as others according to this data, I’m sure the experience of working at Apple makes the slight loss of money worth it. For example, one review from a Mac Specialist in Massachusetts reads, “Awesome company, unforgettable experience, totally worthwhile endeavor…” while another from New Hampshire reads, “The Apple Stores are the place to be.”  Although those quotes aren’t from the top level engineers, I’m sure they represent a majority of Apple’s employees.

Um, I believe it should be “paid,” not “payed”...

Fixed. Every now and again, something slips past.
