Apple: already green enough?

by Mark Rowland on Jun 23, 2008 at 02:09 PM

green appleFor a long time, Apple has talked a whole lot about going green. Well, a lot sooner than expected, Apple has realized that goal. According to a recent survey by Environmental Leader, Apple, along with HP and Microsoft, are at the very top of the environmentally friendly food chain. The information necessary to complete the survey was gathered from 3,500 enterprise IT big-shots earlier this year by Strategic Oxygen, GCI Group and Cohn & Wolfe. Price, company policy, and manufacturing methods and materials were all taken into account to provide accurate and fair results.

A company’s green inclination was not the only thing discovered in the survey. Also found was that 70% of consumers would buy a greener product if they were convinced of how it would help them and the environment.

At the bottom of the green pecking order were Alcatel-Lucent, Nortel, and EMC.
