Anxiety is a good thing after all

by Michael Mistretta on Dec 12, 2007 at 10:45 AM

If you’ve been on the internet for awhile now, you’ve heard of GTD. Getting Things Done is such a hard thing to do in our day and age, probably because there are so many distractions. I have never liked GTD apps, because they take so much time to set up and manage, that I never get anything done. And then comes Anxiety, a new application from an indy developer. Just another GTD app I thought. But boy was I wrong.

Anxiety has such a simple interface, and integrates perfectly with iCal and Mail in Leopard through the new Calendar Store. Its simple window lets you add and checkmark things on your todo list. It nicely fades out when you don’t need it, but it is only a click of a dock or menubar icon away. When you double click a todo, you can add more advanced specifics using either iCal or Mail. And the amazing thing is it works. No other GTD app has worked for me, but this is so simple and intuitive that it actually helps me get things done. Amazingly, this is free. Free as in free. Donations are accepted, and I think that after what I’ve seen in the first day of usage, I will be donating quite a bit to the developer.
