And who says there are no games for the Mac? This week, Ambrosia Software announced and released a 2D game that they are calling Aquaria. This underwater strategy game was built as a Universal Binary, so it will work on both Intel and PPC based Macs running Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later.
Taking on the role of Naija in this game, you will navigate through textured surroundings and learn to defend and heal yourself in hopes of surviving the “perils of the deep.“ Better yet, the whole story line is narrated with full voiceovers to add more to the experience. The game also has a built-in graphics and sound editor. What does this mean? Using the same level editor and modding tools that Ambrosia used to create the game, you will be able to develop your own world and music. That’s pretty awesome if you ask me.
With a “9 out of 10” rating from Wired Magazine, Aquaria currently costs $30.00 over at Ambrosia’s website. Head on over, support the developers, and let us know how you like it!
